Club Passim

Club Passim, 47 Palmer St., “between the Coops”

Club 47 moved to 47 Palmer Street in October 1963 and remained there until it closed in April 1968. The name was then changed to Passim in 1969, when new owners took over, and to Club Passim in 1994, when it became a nonprofit as it was in the 1960s. Back in the day, the 47 Palmer location hosted performers such as Tom Rush, Tim Buckley, Bill Munroe, Doc Watson, Mike Seeger, and Taj Mahal. Today, Club Passim (which also houses Veggie Planet) is a nonprofit organization that still fosters connections between performers and the audience through a small, intimate venue. The organization now includes the Passim School of Music, which offers classes, private lessons and workshops around the corner from the club for all levels of music students, as well as Culture for Kids, a program aiming to expose children to diverse art, culture and people.
